Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming thriller, Nikita Roy and Book of Darkness has piqued the public’s curiosity since its release. Be it its unusual title, eclectic cast or interesting genre, the film hits all the right notes. The film went on floors in London and was shot in the British capital and other parts of the UK. The film stars Sonakshi alongside Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Suhail Nayyar in pivotal roles and marks the directorial debut of Sonakshi’s brother Kussh Sinha.
Sonakshi Sinha starrer Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness completed shooting in a record time of 35 days
One hears that the makers have packed up their film much before the scheduled schedule is over. The film had a 40-day schedule in London but was completed in a record time of just 35 days. They also shot for a two-day sequence in Mumbai. The producers are thrilled with the speed with which the builders executed the project.
Talking about it, leading lady Sonakshi says, “It was a great shoot and very special for me as I got to star in my siblings’ first film. The fine ensemble of the film inspired me to do more and better. It was my first time working with Paresh ji and what an honor to share screen space with him. The shoot was challenging and therefore much more enjoyable. I had a great time shooting with this unit.”
Arjun says, “Though it was a short shoot for me, it was a very memorable one. It’s such a unique character that Kussh wanted me to play. Having so much emotion in a cameo was a challenge, but I think we pulled it off. Sonakshi, I worked with her for the first time, she is very relaxed and we had good chemistry. Reuniting with Paresh Rawal was absolutely delightful. The London countryside is always serene and magical to shoot in. Kudos to the team for completing the film. Looking forward to the final product.”
Producer Nicky Bhagnani says, “A first film is a huge honor for any producer, and Vicky and I worked with a dream team. We were all on deck for the project and worked seamlessly in tandem with each other’s vision. Great design is the key to everything and I’m glad we finished it much earlier.”
Actor Paresh Rawal says, “It was a great pleasure to work with young talent on this film, especially our energetic producers Nicky and Vicky Bhagnani. They have been excellent producers. I found them such neat boys. They are artists who pursue their dreams with passion. This is also our director Kussh’s first film, but we never realized that because he has such a great knowledge of his vision, his craft and knows exactly what to get out of his actors. It’s a sign of a great director. This was a great group. It was my first time working with Sonakshi-ji. She is such a sharp actress. Together we explored such an unusual subject that is handled so well. I can’t wait for everyone to see the film.”

Directed by Kussh S Sinha, the film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Suhail Nayyar and is slated to release in 2023.
