Star Trek is a franchise that has entertained fans for decades, both on TV and in the movies. Enterprise appeared more recently on the big screen with the franchise starring Chris Payne. Now comes a fourth film and Uhura actress Zoe Saldana explains the “sweet and bitter” feelings of returning without the late actor Anton Yelchin.
Actor Anton Yelchin starred as Chekov in all three Star Trek movies, and he was a real stage thief during his run. He died tragically in 2016 after a sudden tragedy, before his release Beyond. The the sequel was recently announced will mark the first dose without Yelchin and Zoe Saldana spoke about this change, saying:
Here you have it. Sounds like his cast Star Trek will have some mixed feelings on the set the mysterious fourth film. Because while everyone will be happy to dive back into the science fiction property, there will be a noticeable absence in the form of Anton Yelchin. It remains to be seen how the story will continue without the late actor.
Zoe Saldana’s comments to Entertainment tonight come from the red carpet of her new movie The Adam Project opposite Ryan Reynolds. Not much is known about the new Star Trek film, as it was only recently announced that it is in active development. And while years have passed since Anton Yelchin died, smart money says it will still have a strong presence on the set of the upcoming blockbuster.
As previously mentioned, Anton Yelchin died tragically in 2016while he was still in the middle of the protagonist in Star Trek privilege. In what has been described as “a horrible accident”, he got stuck between his Jeep Cherokee and his house, after rolling behind his steep road. Yelchin was only 27 years old when he died, which only adds to the tragedy.

Zoe Saldana says the creation of “Star Trek 4” would be “bittersweet” without Anton Yelchin, but “keeping the Star Trek family together is a way to keep him alive in our thoughts and hearts.” pic.twitter.com/vl27oeYRBNMarch 1, 2022
In her comments, Zoe Saldana praises Anton Yelchin art as an actoras well as his enthusiasm for all things Star Trek. This enthusiasm probably helped to revive Chekov’s nervous energy, resulting in some A + line traditions as well as chewing on the landscape. We just have to see exactly how the upcoming sequel explains the absence of this beloved Enterprise crew member.
Stark Trek 4 filming is expected to begin in late 2022. In the meantime, see Release dates of the movie 2022 to plan your next cinematic experience.
