Recently, we’ve had a lot Star Wars excitement when Lucasfilm announced three new upcoming movies. But apart from these movies, there are some Star Wars movies that have been in the works for quite some time. These highly anticipated projects include; Star Wars films helmed by Taika Waititi and Rian Johnson, and a film, actually titled Rogue Squadron, by Patty Jenkins. Additionally, other Star Wars projects, such as a Lando Calrissian Disney+ series, have been heavily discussed but haven’t seen much progress. Recently, however, a number of Star Wars The projects received brief updates from Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Here’s what he said, speaking Empire ( via Slash Film) about these movies and TV shows.
Ryan [Johnson] and I talk all the time. […] [He] It just gets more and more successful, and keeps pushing things further and further back. One day we will understand. And Taika [Waititi] works away. It’s just, and he won’t be mad at me for saying this, slow. We have a few acts, we need a third. And Lando is still on the books, and Rogue Squadron it’s still on the books. We just want them to be great.
A series of very interesting updates. It’s good to know that all of these projects are still on the books. And at least Taika Waititi’s Star Wars The film sounds like it’s definitely moving along, albeit slowly. Of course, things could change, for better or for worse, at the drop of a hat. Let’s hope to see some of them though Star Wars movies and series come to life sooner rather than later, or at least we hope to get more updates on where they are. We certainly had a lot of time imagining what they could be like.
