“The Batman”, “The King’s Daughter”, “The Cellar” + others

by Stewart Cole

This week’s new VOD movies feature some notorious celebrities, but everything we thought we knew about them is being rearranged and repeated in new ways. at Matt Reeves Batman, a young Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) is early in his life fighting crime and collaborating with the Gotham PD as Riddler embarks on a deadly spree in a new and, in a way, even darker version of Batman than what we have seen before. In the meantime, The King’s daughterstarring Pierce Brosnan as the king, at first it sounds like a YA rom-com from the title alone, but it’s actually a sci-fi fantasy action for King Louis XIV who, in this version of life story of, seeks immortality by stealing the power of life from a mermaid.

And to The cellarshot in Ireland, Happy Endings Star Elisha Cuthbert plays the mother of a teenage girl who has disappeared after going to the family basement. However, this is not the only strange thing about the new home, there are tons of strange symbols, glyphs and creepy supernatural events and no one seems to catch the eye. This film, which premiered at Shudder, is a classic big, scary house festival that has everything, religious images, full of parental energy and its constant question where and never this house exists.

These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube and your cable service this week. See which movies are available for purchase or rental on demand now!

Every director who has made a Batman movie or franchise has put his own unique adventure into it, and Matt Reeves’ version, starring Robert Pattinson as Caped Crusader, is no different. In Reeves’ Gotham City, Batman is a young, tormented soul who wants to be good, but can not shake his distraction from almost anything. As Riddler (Paul Dano) sets off on a deadly spree, Batman joins Police Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) and Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) to stop him. While every Batman repetition in the past has had dark, spontaneous vibrations, it escapes the more mythical (and more traditional) Batman superhero story to focus on Gotham’s hard energy and miserable bottom line.
