The director of the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima The film, which is based on the PlayStation video game of the same name released in 2020, has given fans a new update on the film. PlayStation Studios announced earlier this year that it was beginning work on the new film and selected director Chad Stahelski, who had previously directed all four of John Wick’s films, to lead the project. And while you work at Ghost of Tsushima The film is still in its infancy, Stahelski has now given us a better idea of what is going on behind the scenes.
Speaking to IGN in a recent interview, Stahelski said he and the team are working on Ghost of Tsushima make every effort to ensure that it is very similar to the original material. Stahelski even acknowledged that many video game movies in the past did not go well and he certainly does not want that to happen with Ghost of Tsushima. “We just want to do it right. You know how video game adaptations can go. So we take our time and do it right,” he explained. “We work very closely with game developers to make sure we stick to what’s great about it.”
Stahelski went on to explain that at the moment, Ghost of Tsushima is still in the process of writing his screenplay. In addition, he did not commit to a specific actor in the film. Asked if Daisuke Tsuji, who played the lead protagonist, Jin Sakai, in the video game could possibly return to the film, Stahelski said they have not yet gone far enough to begin casting decisions.
At this time, we do not yet have an exact release date for when Ghost of Tsushima will be released in theaters, which means it could be a little longer until we hear more about this project. That said, there seems to be a good chance we will learn more about the film during 2022. If there are any future updates, we’ll be sure to keep you informed here at ComicBook.com.
