Slam Dunk will be hitting theaters overseas very soon with its first feature film, and fans have been given a new look at The First Slam Dunk with a great new poster advertising its future updates! There have been several classic manga and anime franchises from the 90s and 2000s that have returned with new works in recent years, and now there’s a new one taking on a major sports juggernaut. Takehiko Inoue’s classic basketball franchise is coming back for a new film project after all these years, and it’s actually hitting theaters across Japan starting this December.
Titled The first Slam Dunk, This new film in the franchise will be released in cinemas across Japan from December 3rd. It’s been a while since fans have even seen a teaser trailer showing the new film in motion, but it looks like with the theatrical release fast approaching, the promotional train is now in full swing. This continues with a new poster showing the main cast and how they will come to life in the new feature film revival. You can check it out below:

The first Slam Dunk will be released in Japan on December 3rd, but has yet to reveal international plans as of this writing. Toei Animation’s official YouTube channel will share new information about the film on November 3rd, and since very little of the film has been shown, there’s a good chance we’ll see a new trailer for it. As for what we know about the project right now, however, key staff members have previously been confirmed.
Original series creator Takehiko Inoue will write and direct the film himself for Toei Animation and DandeLion Animation Studio. He will be joined by Yasuyuki Ebara as character designer and animation director, Daiki Nakazawa as CG director, Yuta Ogura as CG producer, Kazuo Ogura as art director, Yota Tsuruoka and Koji Kasamatsu as sound directors, and Katsuhiko. Kitada, Naoki Miyahara, Toshio Ohashi and Yu Kamatani technical directors.
