Harnaaz represented India at the 70th edition in Eilat, Israel, where she was crowned Miss World by her Mexican predecessor Andrea Meza, who won the contest in 2020. Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay, 22, finished second and Lalela of South Africa Mswane, 24, came in third.
During the final round of questions and answers, Sandhu was asked what advice she would give young women on how to deal with the stress they face today. “The biggest pressure young people face today is to believe in themselves, to know that you are unique and that is what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourself to others and let’s talk about more important things happening around the world. That “You need to understand. Go out, talk about yourself because you are the leader of your life, you are your own voice. I believed in myself and that is why I stand here today,” he said in a thunderous applause.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Harnaaz’s mother, Ruby Sandhu, shared her feelings about her daughter ‘s euphoric victory. “Right now, I’m very excited and I can not express my feelings. I’m captivated by her huge victory. You can say yeh sab ek maa ki feelings hai,” shared Ruby Sandhu.
Harnaaz is inspired by her mother Ruby Sandhu, who is a gynecologist by profession and her favorite movie star is Priyanka Chopra.
Harnaaz’s victory was widely celebrated on social media. Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Sushmita Sen and many more congratulated the beauty queen.

Harnaaz has won many pageants, including Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017, Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018, Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 and LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021.
He is also pursuing a film career and will also star in the upcoming Punjabi films “Yaara Diyan Poo Baran” and “Bai Ji Kuttange”, which are expected to be released in 2022.
