The Kingdom Live-Action sequel trailer introduces new characters

Yasuhira Hara’s Kingdom has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years and is now preparing for the release of its next live-action movie with a new trailer advertising all the new characters that make the big screen jump. Hara’s original manga has been a huge hit since its release at Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump and became even bigger thanks to the debut of its official anime adaptation (which is now in the middle of its fourth season this Spring). He even broke out with his own effort of feature-length live-action films a few years ago.

This first live-action movie proved to be such a hit with fans that shortly after it was confirmed that the franchise would get a sequel. Titled Kingdom II: To Distant Lands, this new movie is set to hit theaters across Japan later this summer and fans have got another great idea of ​​what to expect from this next movie with a new trailer showing more of the new movie before it comes out! The cast for the sequel includes Yusuke Hirayama as Mou Bu, Koichi Sato as Ryo Fui, Hiroshi Tamaki as Sho Hei Kun, Amane Okayama as Bi Hei, Takahiro Miura as Bitо, Takayuki Hamatsu as Taku Kei, Nana Seino as Kyо Kai, Tsutomu Takahashi as Kyu Gen, Yukiyoshi Ozawa as Go Kei, Etsushi Toyokawa as Duke Hyo, Kiyohiko Shibukawa as Baku Koshin and Chihiro Yamamoto as Kyo Sho. They will join the previously confirmed trio of Kento Yamazaki as Shin, Ryo Yoshizawa as Ei Sei and Kanna Hashimoto as Ka Ryo Ten.

Shunsuke Sato (who previously directed live-action projects for Bleach, Gantz, and is currently attached to Legendary Pictures’ My Hero Academia returns) to direct the sequel to the live-action Kingdom and co-wrote the film with original creator Yasuhira Hara and One Piece Film: Red author Tsutomu Kuroiwa. Unfortunately, while Kingdom II is currently scheduled to be released in cinemas in Japan on July 16, there is still no word on whether it will be released on its own internationally. The first movie did, so there’s a good chance it will happen!
