A new Viking epic starring Alexander Skarsgρrd and Nicole Kidman was ridiculed after the printing of his poster with a very unfortunate mistake.
Renowned director Robert Eggers’s new Viking epic suffered an unfortunate blunder before it even hit theaters.
The Northstarring Alexander Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman, comes out later this month with a series of dark, Game of Thrones-Poster posters were posted in New York subway stations today.
But the passengers were left to scratch their heads over the sleek commercials, as they lacked one important detail: the title of the film.
In addition to neglecting to mention the name of the film, the posters contained a bloody, torn and sullen Alexander Skarsgard and an ominous “Conquer Your Fate” tagline, along with a total of three references to director Robert Eggers.
According journalists at Vulture – who went to subway stations to ask people what they thought was the untitled film – the posters were removed a few hours after the Twitter blunder was pointed out.
It was first published by Isaac Butler, who predicted what happened in the Focus Films office today.
“Well, you have this poster ready The North?,” He wrote.
“Yes, Chief! We already printed it and put it on the subway all over New York! “
“You made sure the title was on it, right?”
“Ωχχχχχχ ….”
Soon, passengers across New York spotted the wrong posters themselves, with Twitter users shouting their own suggested titles.
“The Flintstones 2: Bad Day in Bedrock,” said one.
“Are you so sure that no last minute title change was made to CONQUER YOUR LUCK?” asked another.
Others assumed it was a marketing strategy to get people talking about the film.
“This 100% is a marketing strategy,” one person wrote.
They knew that so many people would see it, laugh at the big mistake they discovered, upload it to Twitter and draw attention to the show that no one would have heard without this “mistake”.

The North is Egers’s third feature film after cult horror hits The lighthouse and The witch.
It includes a stack of casts including Anya Taylor-Joy, Willem Dafoe, Ethan Hawke and Icelandic singer Bjork in her first major film appearance since 2000. Dancer In The Dark.
Set in 10th-century Iceland, Skarsgard plays the Viking warrior in a quest for revenge after the beheading of his father, King Horvendill, played by Hawke.
Sounds a little more violent than a Flintstones sequel.
