The Perfectly Nerdy Reason Weird Al Yankovic has chosen Daniel Radcliffe to play him in the new movie

When depicting an iconic entertainer whose musical work contains a song called “White and Nerdy”, it would be derogatory to say that being white and nervous is actually a big first step. So it is with Daniel Radcliffe and his upcoming series as Weird Al for the upcoming Roku Channel comic book Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. As logic and fate would say, the Harry Potter The star revealed that it was indeed a public demonstration of his own geeky interests that led him directly to acquire a role as the King of Pop Parodies.

Some might argue that Daniel Radcliffe spends much of his existence so intertwined with Harry Potter The franchise may have been all the CV needed to get at least one foot in the door for a Weird Al audition. But it was actually an improvised serenade which the actor closed in one episode The Graham Norton show who sealed the deal, as Radcliffe explained to Jimmy Fallon during his most recent visit The Tonight Show.

When I first spoke to Al, I said: “I’m very flattered by the idea that you would pick me up to play you. But like, why me? And I’m shocked, but excited. And obviously, just like 13, 14 years ago, I sang a version of a Tom Leher song on The Graham Norton Show in the UK. I sang “The Elements” next to Colin Ferrell and a very confused Rihanna, who I think was like, “Who is this kid and why does he sing all the elements?” And I guess Al saw it and said, “Maybe this guy understands that,” and so he chose me. So I’m very, very lucky.
