Recently, protests for the protagonist Akshay Kumar Prithviraj broke out in Ajmer. The Gurjar community in Rajasthan has threatened to boycott the next season drama unless the title “Rajput” is removed.
From its announcement in 2020, Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj has sunk into controversy. People from the Gurjar community gathered in huge numbers at the Devnarayan Temple in Vaishali Nagar, Ajmer, to protest the upcoming use of the “Rajput” suffix for Prithviraj by the film. According to information, they closed roads and headed to the office of the Provincial Collector, where they presented a memorandum in which they described their demands. The protesters claimed that they would stop showing the film if their demands were not met.
Harchand Gurjar, chairman of the Veer Gurjar Samaj Reform Commission in India, believes that the title of the film Prithviraj should be changed and that the historical facts should not be distorted in any way. He asked for everything to be revealed in its entirety. The monarch, according to the community, was a member of their group. Before Prithviraj Coming out of the halls, the Gurjar organization requested a screening for its representatives and historians.
Akshay Kumar plays Hindu ruler Prithviraj Chauhan in the film Prithviraj. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana and Sonu Sood. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will make her Bollywood debut with the film, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
