The superhero gets a stylish makeover in the 90s with a new poster

by Stewart Cole

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is still taking over the box office around the world and some cool art has imagined what the movie would have looked like in the 90s with a stylish poster! The latest Dragon Ball Super feature film was not only one of the franchise’s most successful releases to date, but it went on to be one of Toei Animation’s most successful films ever. It’s hard not to see why, as fans were drawn to the fact that Gohan and Piccolo took the lead and were the ones taking on the villains this time around.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is still making its way around the world for its release (and is even making headlines in Hong Kong in some surprising ways), and while there’s been plenty of promotional material for the film so far, there are still plenty of cool ways the film could to show off her best parts to fans. One such way is a cool concept post by artist @salvamakoto on Instagram that he has given Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero a makeover that makes it similar to one of the Dragon Ball movies from decades ago! Check it out below:

Why Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a hit

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is nearly over US$90 million at the global box office, and that’s set to continue as it makes its way through its final international territories. The movie picks up a few years after the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly and introduces a whole new kind of Gohan and Piccolo. Not only does it make them the central defenders of Earth against a pair of powerful new Androids (and later a familiar returning face), but the movie also gives them some brand new forms to boot.

Fans have been curious to see more of Gohan in action in the anime for years, and the new movie finally makes good on that promise by establishing him as one of the most powerful fighters in the current Dragon Ball continuity thanks to the release of the “Gohan Beast” form. It’s yet to be revealed if we’ll see this form in action someday, but with the franchise already working on its next anime, we might not have to wait long!
