A Bollywood film featuring 5 top actors of that time dominated the screens due to its unique story and genre in the late 70s. It is still a popular Bollywood classic among the masses. We are talking about Jaani Dushman which was released in 1979. It was a horror film, which has not lost its luster even today.

The film was directed by Rajkumar Kohli. The cast of Jaani Dushman included names like Sunil Dutt, Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy, Rekha, Neetu Singh, Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami. Rajkumar Kohli was also the producer of the film and it was produced under Shankar Movies. Laxmikant-Pyarelal composed the music in the film and Verma Malik penned the lyrics. The story of Jaani Dushman revolves around a monster, who kidnaps and kills brides.

It became the highest grossing film of the year. Most of the songs in the film were hits, especially Chalo Re and Doli Uthao Kahaar, which were sung by the legendary Mohammad Rafi.

    In 2002, Rajkumar Kohli made another film with the same title, called Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani. Reports say that it was Kohli’s last film as a director. The cast of the film includes some of the biggest names in Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Sonu Nigam, Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi, Aditya Pancholi and Sharad Kapoor in the lead roles and Manisha Koirala and Armaan Kohli played the negative roles. . This was Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol’s first film together, though they had no scenes together. The film was produced by Rajkumar Kohli under Shankar Movies. The film’s music was composed by Anand Milind, Anand Raj Anand and Sandeep Chowta. It turned out to be a failure at the box office and is considered one of the worst films of Bollywood.
