Movie theater Tigmansu Doulia expressed regret that he had taken on some jobs for which he was not passionate. He said he had his reasons. Dhulia, director of acclaimed films such as Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, said he never had as much fun as he does now, working on flow projects.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, he said that the last time he enjoyed the job was when he made the kind of movies he is still known for. Dulia has also made lesser known films such as Bullet Raja, Raag Desh, Yaara and Milan Talkies. He also starred in the first season of Hotstar’s Criminal Justice remake and is looking forward to the release of his latest show, The Great Indian Murder.
“The movies I was abused for, only I know why I made them,” he told Hindi. “People go through all kinds of phases in life. many ups and downs. Sometimes greed overwhelms you. You feel the pressure of the producer. That’s when you make mistakes. They happen when we chase Laxmi (goddess of wealth) instead of the goddess Saraswati (goddess of knowledge and art).
The director-actor said that in the world of streaming he no longer has the pressure to ensure the return on investment. On the internet, movies are not removed after two weeks, but they can last forever and be enjoyed by many generations.
Based on Vikas Swarup’s novel, Six Suspects, starring The Great Indian Murder Ritsa Bag, Pratik Gandhi, Shashank Arora, Sharib Hashmi, Raghubir Yadav and others. The show will air on Disney + Hotstar on February 4.
