To celebrate the holiday season and the new year, Todd Phillips has given fans new photos from the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux.
The continuation of 2019 Jokerstarring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, is set to be released by Warner Bros. on October 4, 2024.
The director released two photos on Instagram, and in the first, Phoenix's Arthur Fleck can be seen through a prison cell window with the number “E258” written over it. The second image shows Gaga's Harley Quinn in monochrome, looking down on the Phoenix character with the Joker's iconic makeup.
Phillips followed the photos with the caption: “Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a beautiful new year. October 2024 #Joker2.”
Although most of the film has been kept under wraps, the director has continued to tease fans throughout the year. In April, to celebrate the end of filming, Phillips shared photos of Phoenix and Gaga in character. The A star Is Born The actress was also photographed earlier this year during a shoot for New York Joker: Folie à Deux.
Gaga's Harley Quinn first debuted in February, when Phillips shared a first image on Instagram of the star holding Phoenix's face. She captioned the time, “Happy Valentine's Day.”
Jokerwhich grossed $1 billion, followed Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian struggling with mental health issues who turns to crime and mayhem.
Joker: Folie à Deux will be one of the DC Elseworlds titles, alongside Matt Reeves Batman sequel, which is set to exist separately from DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran.
