Yash Raj Films’ Samsera starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor is an adrenaline-pumping action entertainer set to release in IMAX in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu on 22 July 2022. Vaani plays the role of India’s most sought-after touring performer in the film and had to she learned horse riding for months to play her role in the movie with elan!
Vaani Kapoor learns horse riding for Shamshera: ‘They only know the language of love’
Director Karan Malhotra says, “Vaani had to go through horse training because when you train with an animal and you want to work with an animal in a film, you have to relate to the animal. The horse he trained with for the longest time and eventually that horse became a friend.”
Vaani adds, “Even for riding you need that emotional connection with the animal. They will throw you away otherwise. I remember getting this whole packet of cookies and so the trainer also told me like feed the horse, befriend the horse and it’s so cute. I mean it’s like the most beautiful animal. I think it is extremely important to be friends with them first. They only know the language of love.”
Vaani looks gorgeous in the film and her chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor is widely appreciated. Karan, Ranbir and Sanjay Dutt praise her for her professionalism and acting prowess.
Karan says, “I was always very excited to work with Vaani because I think when I saw her first film, I really liked her as a performer, she was very fresh and very confident.”
Ranbir says, “She’s a beautiful actress, very hard working, very dedicated and I think she’s a closet method actress, but like the kind of innocence and the kind of strength she brought to the character was amazing. It was a tough character for her, but she played it so beautifully. I’m really proud that you know her work in this movie.”
Sanjay Dutt says, “I met her while doing Shamshera and she is a good actress. I think she had so much confidence and even as a performer or a dancer, she’s fantastic, but the main thing is that she’s a really wonderful person who she is.”
His story Samsera is set in the fictional city of Kaza, where a tribe of warriors are imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless tyrannical general Shuddh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe. He fights relentlessly for the freedom and dignity of his race. His name is Shamshera.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action extravaganza is produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22, 2022.
