While many stars, including Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, joined the cast on stage, Varun noticed Kartik sitting in the audience. According to Pinkvilla, Varun persuaded Kartik to join them, saying, “Kartik, come on, you can dance to a Dharma song.” As soon as Kartik took the stage, Varun and Kiara brought Karan Johar.
Kartik was seen smiling as Karan stepped onto the stage to make the hook step. Kartik, however, did not take the dance floor even though he was on stage, the reports further reported. Later, Varun shared a video of the event on Instagram and shouted at Arjun Kapoor that he did not dance with them, by mistake. Arjun rejected him, saying that he did not notice him dancing, as his whole focus was on Kartik.
Sharing a video from the event, Arjun wrote in his Stories on Instagram, “Varun Dhawan jab humne kiya toh aapki team ne record nahi kiya kyunki aap Kartik Aaryan ke Bhool Bhulaiyaa mein kho gaye.”
Kartik signed with Dharma Productions to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor in ‘Dostana 2’, but left the project after shooting a few scenes. The reason behind his departure is not known, but it led to many stories surrounding the alleged rift between Karan and Kartik.
