One of the stars behind The Venture Bros confirmed that the upcoming new film will serve as the final series for the animated series as a whole. Venture Bros. was one of the longest running animated projects in Adult Swim, but although the series ran on the programming block for almost 17 years, its volatile release schedule has only resulted in seven seasons so far. Fans eagerly awaited the sequel, but Adult Swim shocked fans everywhere when it announced that The Venture Bros. would be canceled long before season 8 saw the light of day.
However, it was far from over, as Adult Swim announced a series of new films based on their animated works, and The Venture Bros. was one of those returning for a new film. Also advertised as a feature film is James Urbaniak, the voice of Dr. Rusty Venture in the animated series, took to Twitter to inform fans about the final recording process for the franchise and confirmed that this new special will serve as the official finale of the series:

No window or release date has been set for this new feature yet (but it looks like production is underway), but when this new special makes its debut, it will first be released on Blu-ray, DVD and TVOD for 90 days before being released on Adult Swim and on HBO Max.
