Set a seat at the table for the queen. Beyoncé delivered a surprise, albeit taped, message during NBC’s coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, regaling fans with a message of gratitude and a new trailer for her upcoming Renaissance concert film.
“Hi, it’s Beyoncé, I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving,” she said, looking regal in a studded black leather jacket. “It’s a great honor to share with you the first look at the new trailer for the Rebirth movie.”
The clip opens with Beyoncé declaring, “I’ve got nothing to prove to anybody right now,” before playing through a montage of live performances from her Renaissance World Tour and backstage footage. “We create our own world,” he says later. “This is my reward. No one can take that away from me.”
This teaser trailer follows a longer one that premiered earlier this month, in which she talked about balancing motherhood and being on stage in a “very male-dominated” world. The singer first announced the documentary following her final Renaissance tour performance in Kansas City, Missouri, in October. The film is expected to hit theaters in December.
Beyoncé wasn’t the only global icon to appear in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Live and fleshed-out Cher rounded out Santa’s appearance at the 97th annual holiday tradition with a performance of her holiday song, “DJ Play a Christmas Song.”
