The middle of the shorts doesn’t get nearly enough credit. Ideas formed in shorts sometimes blossom into feature productions or TV shows. Sometimes, you just don’t need much time to tell your story. It takes a lot of talent to make a short work because you don’t have a lot of time to waste, so everything has to be extremely deliberate. You need tight writing and storytelling to make it work. Former EIC and CCO of Marvel Comics Joe Quesada looking to explore this underrated art form with Fly. He announced the short a few days ago, but today, he dropped a short trailer for the short. Quesada seems to indicate that he will post it somewhere once the festival season is over.
Fly It’s something Quesada has been “dreaming about for years”
Quesada initially said on Twitter A few days ago: “FLY will be screened along with many other films Friday, January 6 at 5:00 p.m. at Towne Hub, 120 W Main St, American Fork, UT. There’s a panel I’ll be attending right after” also adding “The UFF Audience Choice Awards are open. I would appreciate it if you would check “FLY” and “OTHER” right below and write in the following names. Yeah, it’s a little weird to vote for movies you haven’t seen yet (you can’t post them until after festival season) and it’s the equivalent of a “Who has the most friends and family” award. But I would be honored if you shot us. The team worked incredibly hard to make this short story happen. Oh, and stay tuned! As we speak we are working on a short trailer which I hope to have by tomorrow. Thank you again for your love and support over the years. I have a bunch of cool stuff to announce in 2023! FLY is only the first.”
Carlie Quesada also writes“This has been a project my father has dreamed of for years. And I am forever grateful that he allowed me, along with the talented cast and crew, to help make his dream come true. I am so happy to get to work with my family and dear friends. I’m so excited to share it with everyone.”
