Will Christian Bale’s Batman Return In The Flash Movie? Response to new rumors

by Stewart Cole

A new rumor has provided an update on whether or not fans will see Christian Bale return as Batman in the next DCU movie, The lightning.

As The lightning looks to serve as a semi-transition between Zack Snyder’s story and the new narrative under DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, this film will bring together countless heroes and villains from across the Multiverse.

That’s especially true on the Batman front, with Michael Keaton’s 1989 hero starring alongside Ezra Miller’s Flash, while Ben Affleck will make a brief, final appearance as the DCEU’s Caped Crusader.

There have also been rumors of a focus Batman & RobinGeorge Clooney is included in the post-credits scene, and it doesn’t even seem like the Batman rumors have stopped with him.

Christian Bale’s Batman in The Flash?

DC

KC Walsh of Geeks Worldwide shared on Twitter that Christian Bale will not appear as Batman in the The lightning.

Responding to a comment that seemed confident of Bale’s inclusion in the story, Walsh quickly and firmly he responded with “100% no.”

He went on to respond to another fan who hopes Bale gets involved with The Flash, hinting that he “dropped an idea” about which hero is going to make an appearance in a previous reply.

This comes after several other DC cameos have been reported for The lightningincluding some key members of the Justice League.

Why Bale’s Batman Might Be Misplaced on The Flash

Christian Bale’s Batman from The Dark Knight Trilogy arguably existed in the most realistic and grounded universe of any Batman to date, making it unlikely that he would fit into the multi-dimensional and fantastical story told in The lightning.

Above that, it is mentioned that he would be unlikely to return to his role as Batman without Dark Knight trilogy director Christopher Nolan, and that Nolan has not been involved in anything DC-related since he helped produce 2013 Man of Steel.

But while Bale is almost certain not to feature The lightningthe second of DC’s four 2023 films is rumored to open the proverbial floodgates with heroes and villains from elsewhere in the Multiverse.

The lightning is set to hit theaters on June 16.
