Marvel Studios recently revealed that they were still in development for Don Cheadle Armor Wars series during their presentation at Disney D23, and earlier today it was revealed that the project was being turned into a feature film. Armor Wars is still being written by Yassir Lester and is currently looking for a director. Upon hearing this news, you might think it’s turning into a feature-length project because it’s going to have some big surprises in store, and we’re thinking with you. Titled as Armor WarsWe were wondering if we could see Robert Downey Jr return as Iron Man in some way, shape or form.

Robert Downey Jr. will appear. as Iron Man Armor Wars?

With the multiverse being a major factor in this Marvel Cinematic Universe saga, it’s possible that we’ll see the actor return as a different version of Iron Man in the upcoming film and could even appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars film. Some fans believe that the actor could play the superior Iron Man version of the character and could be quite the match. Superior Iron Man appears in 2015 Secret Wars comics, so it’s only fitting that Downey plays the alternate role in these two massive projects.

“The death of Tony Stark, I’m sure will play a role in the series,” Cheadle said during an interview with BroBible last year. “Where we’ve kind of progressed is Rhodey — even in the last movie where he’s now standing again and now he’s walking again and now he’s mobile again — so as the technology continues to develop and we continue to innovate the suit and what’s going on, I imagine there will be another elevation and another way we’re going to continue to dig into this part of Rhodey,” he said. “But really, finding a way to bridge what’s happening in the comics with what’s happening on screen in the MCU and how we’re going to make those worlds work is really exciting.”

“Playing Tony/Iron Man was tough and I dug deep. I had an incredible 10-year run that was creatively rewarding,” Downey revealed in an earlier interview with The Hindustan Times. “I’ve done everything I could with this character and I can do other things now. Now that you’re middle-aged, you start to look at the back nine and realize that it’s all part of the journey and things come to an end. I’m lucky and eternally grateful to have ended up where I have.”

The most recent Marvel Studios movie to hit theaters was Thor: Love and Thunder. The film is directed by Taika Waititi and will star Chris Hemsworth as the titular character, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star. Lord, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. In addition to directing, Waititi will also reprise his role as Korg. Thor: Love and Thunder streaming exclusively on Disney+ now!
