During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Manoj Bajpayee spoke at length about Bandaa and shared his preparation for the film. On the same note, the actor was asked if the audience will ever see him in a “proper masaledar film”. In his reply, Bajpayee was quick to name a few films from his repertoire that were mass masala films. The list included Satyamev Jayate, Baaghi 2, Bewafaa and Fareb.
Lekin kal ko aur aengi, ahi aengi. Mujey Tevar bahut hi… agar aap sach mai puche, Tevar mujhe, Bandaah ke pehle mujey kisi mainstream movie ne bahut jyada mujhe fakr diya toh woh Tevar thi. Kishi ne nahi dehi hai toh jaake dekiye. Bahut hi badhiya movie Amit Sharma ne banai thi Badhaai Do ke pehle (But more will come tomorrow and they will come well. If you ask me honestly, a mainstream film before Bandaah which has given me much more pride is, is Tevar. If anyone hasn’t seen it, go see it. It is a fantastic movie that has been made by Amit Sharma in the past Badhaai Do)”
For the unfamiliar, Tevarstarring Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor, released in 2015. The film performed poorly at the box office.
