Moviegoers will be forced to make a tough decision about the next free first-run movie, sponsored by Cochrane Home Treasures, on June 17.
Transformers Rise of the Beast, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, Little Mermaid, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the movie The Super Mario Bros. will be shown at the Cochrane Movie House that night.
Movie start times vary between 6:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m
Free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis when the theater box office opens this Wednesday, June 7 at 6 p.m.
Cayley Breeze, director of Cochrane Home Treasures, reminds people that tickets sold out quickly last time. He encourages people to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Cochrane Home Treasures is a not-for-profit business that uses all of its profits to support community projects. This fits well with their mission “Everyone deserves the beautiful and the necessary”.
These days, people are struggling with high expenses and having extra money for a night out for the family has become much more difficult.
“We wanted to see what we could do for the community to help them have some of these cool things in their lives,” Breeze explained when they established the free movie nights. “One of the things that came up was community movie nights.”
Hal Wolfe, of the Cochrane Movie House, also shares this strong sense of community.
“We were very excited about the opportunity to partner with Cochrane Home Treasures,” he said. “The fact that they wanted to give back to the community and involve the Cochrane Movie House in some way is incredible. This is an idea that was presented to us, we worked together and we look forward to paying it forward to the Cochrane community.”
It’s the second in a series of four free movie nights. The next ones are scheduled for Wednesday. Oct. 11 and Wed. Nov. 8.
