KH 234 (tentative title) is an upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer that marks his reunion with ace director Mani Ratnam after the epic crime drama Nayakan (1987). The film was announced as a joint production of Kamal Haasan’s home banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies in November 2022.
KH 234 it was also officially announced that it will have AR Rahman for music and a plan to hit theaters in 2024. Since then, it has been revealed that the film is being planned on a grand scale with actors Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan in it. More recently, a promo video shoot with all the actors in it was said to be in the works; It remains unclear when this video will be released.
Now, KH234 Actor-producer Kamal Haasan has revealed that the beard he is growing is for the film. Sharing a scene with director Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan responded to a request for an update on the film stating:
“We (Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan) without any worries are working like we used to work during Nayakan. Our focus was only to make a good film, to walk tall among you. All our preparations are going on towards this goal. Even this beard (points to face) is this. Whatever needs to be cultivated is being fertilized by us right now. Thank you. This is the update”
