Imitiaz Ali’s ‘Jab we Met’ became a hit and over time gained a cult following. The film, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, has been loved by all. Now, as talks of a sequel to the film gain momentum, we are all wondering if exes Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will reunite after years of the film.
‘JAB WE MET’ 2 ON CARDS
In an interview to Times Now, Raj Mehta, the owner of Ashtavinayak, confirmed that he is planning to release a sequel to ‘Jab We Met’. He said he will produce it under the banner of Gandhar Films.
However, there is no official announcement and neither the script nor the shooting date have been locked. Actually, the cast is also not finalized. But it makes us wonder if Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will share the screen once again for the film’s sequel!
WHEN SHAHID TALKED ABOUT A POSSIBLE SEQUEL
“Jab We Met” was re-released in theaters earlier this year. At that time, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shahid Kapoor had talked about the possibility of a sequel.
He said, “It really depends on the quality of that script. So if there’s a script that calls for a sequel and I feel like it’s the kind of script that you read and go “man, this is going to be better than the original, this might match the original” I’d do it, but if I feel like it’s not and I’m just trying to use the brand value of the original thing to do, then I feel like ‘why do it, don’t do it’.
He had also talked about how Kareena Kapoor Khan played the role of Geet and had said, “For Geet (Kareena Kapoor’s character), I really doubt anyone else will be able to do that kind of justice.”
The last film that Kareena Kapoor and Shahid acted together was ‘Udta Punjab’, though they did not have any scenes together. They also appeared in ‘Milenge Milenge’ after ‘Jab We Met’.
