Most fans probably already know that when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a lot of secrecy, especially with its larger productions. As a result, in some rare cases, even the real stars of these projects are not even aware of every detail. This was true for Spider-Man: No Way Home leads Tom Holland, who recently revealed that he was unaware Green Goblin actor Willem Dafoe had signed up for the film. And this lack of knowledge eventually led to a meeting between the two stars, which left Holland a little “scared”.
To signal the release of the latest There is no way home trailer last week, the British actor appeared at a fan event and talked about his experience from producing the film. During the conversation (via IndieWire), explained the secrecy about the plethora of the film’s comic book rivals. From there, he described his perfect reaction when he first met Willem Dafoe on set:
Imagine being in a Hollywood production so big that you just come across artists who are Oscar nominees on the set. I honestly do not know what I would do if I met Willem Dafoe this way. But if I had really thought about it, I would probably have clarified it shortly before I asked him a bunch of questions. Sure, it’s definitely how you would expect a fan to react to such a situation, but I don’t feel too bad about it, since actor Peter Parker was also a little shocked.
And surely there was enough power in the stars on the set of the long-awaited dose of MCU to become a hype. In addition to Norman Osborne star, the third part welcomed Dr. Octopus himself, Alfred Molina and Electro actor Jamie Foxx. According to Tom Holland, the stars look more than happy to return to the Marvel barn. Foxx, who had previously offended his participation, it was now more fun throwing tips for his return. As for Molina, he was so excited that in fact confirmed his role shortly after the first report. You can see all the bad guys of the comic in action in the new trailer below:
While the various villains no longer seem a mystery to the public, they still exist many questions surrounding production. The biggest one is obviously related to the rumored inclusions of former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. No actor has confirmed himself for the film, although many believe that they will indeed continue to offer the latest wall-crawler some help in his battle in multiple ways.
Regardless of whether they appear, however, fans should be very happy to see so many other familiar faces. The trailers have not shown much of Willem Dafoe’s cunning evil, but based on what has been revealed, the actor is going to bring his A-game. Personally, I can’t wait to be pierced again by this goblin laugh after so many years.
Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres in theaters on December 17. And if you want to relive Willem Dafoe’s highlights as the iconic villain, you can watch Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy on Hulu.
