The directors are looking for Caucasian men aged 25 and over with short hair or willing to cut their hair to fill background roles for police officers, detectives and inmates for the “Boston Strangler”. “This is a part of the era that takes place in Boston from 1963 to 1965, so the look is very specific,” the casting statement said. Production also needs vehicles from the 1950s and early 1960s. If you have a car from that time, send an e-mail to [email protected].
The film stars Keira Knightley (“Pirates of the Caribbean”), Chris Cooper (“Little Women”), Alessandro Nivola (“Many Saints of Newark”) and Carrie Coon (“Gone Girl”).
“Boston Strangler” focuses on how the late Milton journalist Loretta McLaughlin (Knightley) and her colleague Boston Record American reporter Jean (Cole) Harris from Scituate challenged early-1960s sexism in story coverage. They were the first journalists to link the killings to a suspect now known as the Boston Strangler. Written and directed by Matt Ruskin (“Crown Heights”), the film will begin shooting on December 6 in Belmont. The production is based on Braintree.
