“Spider-Man: No Way Home” finally hits theaters this week, but Jimmy Kimmel still really wants to be in the movie. So when the cast stopped on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday night, the presenter made one last effort to convince them.
To begin the interview, Kimmel asked Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Benedict Cumberbatch about all the bad guys in the movie. Although Holland was a little hesitant to respond, given his history with Marvel spoilers, Kimmel took it easy and listed only confirmed bad guys in the movie. But he was able to shoot into that vein.
“I also want to mention, for those of you who are watching right now, there will be an Easter egg in this interview that you should pay attention to,” Kimmel said. “And maybe you’ll see something interesting about a villain that may appear in future movies.”
As he said, a fake character poster for Kimmel’s own view of Kraven the Hunter – which he first put in the trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” last month – appeared on the screen behind him, pushing the cast to burst out laughing.
Later in the interview, Kimmel pointed to a moment in the trailer that seemed to indicate that people were digitally moving away from a key battle scene. As proof, he played the clip in slow motion, showing the evil Spidey Lizard receiving a blow to the face from an invisible opponent.
Kimmel let the cast give an explanation, before playing the clip again, this time edited to include the host himself hitting Lizard, again as Kraven the Hunter.
“It seems that Kraven the Hunter, for whatever reason, fights the other bad guys!” Kimmel admired, before seriously pleading “Please put me in this movie, for God’s sake!”
