Like Ebenezer Scrooge realizing that it is not too late to change his bad manners on Christmas morning, Beavis and Butt-Head will have another chance to score. A new movie “and many more” with the impressively stupid teenagers of Mike Judge is coming to Paramount + this year.
The news comes with courtesy, what else, a tweet from Judge, who hopefully does not think too hard about what his boys would look like on social media. “Beavis and Butt-Head will be back this year with a brand new movie and more at Paramount +,” Mike Judge wrote on Twitter. “There is no exact date, but soon. They need some time to get back in shape. “
We do not need to go on much, but “more” implies this Beavis And Butt-Head will receive similar treatment with South Park– although probably on a much smaller scale. Last year, South Park promised to do a shocking 14 movies and five more seasons as part of a multi-year deal that made Matt Stone and Trey Parker unspeakably rich. We doubt the Judge has this agreement – though he probably should. The new film would be the first sequel to the 1997 masterpiece Beavis And Butt-Head: Do America, which probably still does not receive enough credit.
Last time we saw it Beavis And Butt-Head wandering in Maxi-Mart was in 2011 when MTV commissioned a short season new episodes. The AV Club praised this incarnation of the series. In his own summary of her final season, critic Simon Abrams wrote:
Tonight’s finale of the Beavis and Butthead season, the completion of the first full season of the series in 14 years, is a perfect indication of what Mike Judge did to replicate the success of his hilarious simplistic cartoon. The secret of the show’s longevity is that it has not changed at all. Beavis and Butthead are still confused about the superficiality of the remnants of pop culture with which they are surrounded. And they are not wiser for that.
G / O Media may receive a commission
The judge did not say what the movie ab would beoutside. Wμι we can only assume that they are Beavis and Butt-Head in their eternal quest to either score or watch TV and eat nachos. Whatever the way it shakes it is fine with us.
