Earlier this week, the trailer for the highly anticipated Shakun Batra Gehraiyaan was revealed through a virtual press conference in the presence of Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa. The film will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 11, 2022. The actors embark on a journey to find themselves in the history of modern relationships.
Speaking about the trip and how Deepika Padukone was a strong pillar in this whole movie, Shakun Batra said Bollywood Hungama“I think there was no other way to make this movie. To be honest, I think it was not a movie you go into if you’re not sure. You have to be really sure of yourself, you have to leave. “abandon the conventional idea of the heroine. You can see a graph of her journey. She has taken steps, making huge leaps in that direction. It is not surprising that this happened to the two of us together.”
Shakun Batra said they knew they would work together one day and recalled how dedicated Deepika was to the project. “We knew this was the kind of story she and I were going to do together. So I had no doubt, I had no second thoughts. When I went to her. The only second thought I ever had was after hearing the script, she was surprised at me for two days and I said, “Maybe, either I wrote a terrible script, or he does not think this is something he should do. But two days later, when she called me and just took the time to dive really deep into what this character would get out of her. He is someone who gives in to the emotion of the character; mentally, physically. It just took me a while to really commit to it. I like that. He does not jump on things and then he understands them. He sits down, makes a commitment and then enters the world with you. Therefore, I can not see any other way of working with any actor. I was very lucky to have actors who are dedicated, ready to go to unexplored areas and who just trust. He gave me everything and beyond. I could not have I asked for more. I have read so many times things that have rewritten things, and they have always been so supportive. “So I have only really good things and gratitude to share, nothing more,” he said.
Co-produced by Dharma Productions & Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Shakun Batra’s Jouska Films, the film is a relationship drama that delves into the complexities of complex modern relationships, adulthood, abandonment and control over one’s life.
