Cobra Kaihis successor series The Karate Kid film franchise, is still as beloved by fans as ever after the the end of season 5and the anticipation for Season 6 has already been heightened by the news that a young Karate Kid the movie is coming in 2024. Those wondering if and how the Netflix series will connect to the upcoming film need not ponder any further, as co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz has cleared up the two projects’ connection, or lack thereof.
Despite actors like Ralph Macchio hypothetically talking about Cobra Kai spinoffs That could happen, it doesn’t look like Sony’s upcoming movie slated for June 7, 2024 is within those lines of thinking. Co-creator and EP Jon Hurwitz he tweeted sent a message after the film was announced and clarified where she currently stands in relation to the Netflix success story:
The news that the upcoming Karate Kid the movie seems to have nothing to do with it Cobra Kai The series will likely be disappointing for die-hard fans. The showrunners have generally described their streaming dramedy as an observation of the Miyagi verse, meaning they stick to the big screen endeavors with Pat Morita’s sage sensei, Mr. Miyagi. It’s entirely possible that this upcoming feature could also revolve around Mr. Miyagi in some way (though please God not a remake), however Cobra KaiHis creative team apparently didn’t get any of those memos.
This latest update from Jon Hurwitz is confusing, as the only information revealed about the upcoming Karate Kid film was that it will be “the return of the original Karate Kid privilege.” But it’s hard to imagine how that’s happening right now if his co-hosts Cobra Kai not to mention the stars themselves, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Perhaps future details will clarify this film’s place in the franchise and hopefully explain what exactly it is. Could it specifically follow the traditions from the later films?
It may not be ideal that Sony has one Karate Kid a movie is coming out that may have nothing to do with it Cobra Kaibut it’s not completely unheard of. Star Trek is an example of a franchise whose films and television shows were once closely related to its television shows, though they now largely exist as separate and distinct universes. Both have managed to thrive and be successful, despite the franchise’s more recent troubles i’m trying to reach Star Trek 4 from the ground.
While Cobra KaiHis co-hosts are not involved in any upcoming shows Karate Kid movies to date, they I am doing they have a high-profile feature based on another iconic 80s movie. Sam And Victor’s Day Off is an upcoming spinoff that will follow the valet guides which appeared in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which seems like an interesting case. As such, it would be awesome to learn that they would be lending their talents to a new film set in the Miyagi verse, but for now, everyone can enjoy their lot Cobra Kai successes with a Netflix subscription.
As mentioned, the new Karate Kid The film is slated for release on June 7, 2024. More details about the apparent continuation of the franchise will surely be revealed in the coming months, so don’t stray too far from the dojo.
