It looks Ranbir KapoorHis woes with the endless promotions of Brahmastra Part One-Shiva have not stopped yet. The movie hit the theaters almost two months ago and was a hit. Now it’s out digitally and the actor is promoting it again. But the funky ad campaign sees Ranbir complaining about the relentlessness of the film’s promotions. The newest video has the actor pleading with the audience to let him eat. Read also: Ranbir Kapoor now refuses to promote Brahmastra
Brahmastra launches on Disney+ Hotstar on November 4, almost two months after its theatrical release. In the new promo video for the film’s OTT release shared by the platform, Ranbir sits on a sofa with a slice of pizza in hand and his mouth wide open before he is seen having a camera pointed at him. Frustrated, he looks at the camera and says, “Brahmastra will be streaming tomorrow on Disney+ Hotstar.” He then smiles and brings the slice of pizza closer to his mouth, before pleading with the audience: “Please kana kha loon? (Please, can I eat).” He then proceeds to take a bite of the pizza.
This is not Ranbir’s first ‘disgruntled’ promotional video from the campaign. Last week, a video showed him on the phone with someone expressing how unbearable the Brahmastra offerings were for him, refusing to do it anymore. “Even Alia has not said ‘Shiva, Shiva’ that many times in the film. I’ve become a ghost dancing so much. Alia has lost her voice singing Kesariya at every event. We have flown 150 drones and distributed 250 sweets. What to do now? Go to everyone’s house ask them personally ‘ladies and gentlemen our movie Brahmastra is coming on Disney+ Hotstar please watch it’ he said in Hindi.
A second video released three days later had a director Ayan Mukerji persuading him to say a one-liner a certain way, but a tired Ranbir just couldn’t get it right. In the end, he walked away as Ayan unsuccessfully tried to stop him.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva hit theaters in September. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. The film is the highest grossing Indian film of the year by global gross ₹431 crore.
