After fan-favorite work in franchises such as Aquaman, Game of Thronesand DuneJason Momoa is going to head into a whole new fantasy realm. Momoa will star soon Slumberlanda live-action adaptation of Little Nemo in Slumberland comic book and anime movie. The project is set to hit select theaters this weekend before hitting Netflix later this year, and the streaming service has just released a series of teaser posters to get fans excited about the project. The posters, which can be seen below, spotlight Momoa’s Flip, Marlow Barkley’s Nemo, Pig, and Weruche Opia’s Agent Green.
“I have to tell you that playing this role really unlocked a lot of things for me,” Momoa explained. in a recent interview with People.com. “I got to see it with my kids yesterday and with Marlowe and her family. It’s weird when you tear up watching your own stuff. It surprised me and I was so emotional. This role let me be really free. And the character is so entertaining.”
What is Slumberland about?
Slumberland takes audiences to a magical new place, a dream world where precocious Nemo (Marlow Barkley) and her eccentric partner Flip (Jason Momoa) embark on the adventure of a lifetime. After her father Peter (Kyle Chandler) is unexpectedly lost at sea, young Nemo’s idyllic existence in the Pacific Northwest is turned upside down when she is sent to live in the city with her well-meaning but deeply troubled uncle Philip (Chris O’Dowd). Her new school and routine are challenging by day, but by night, a secret map to the fantasy world of Slumberland connects Nemo with Flip, a rough but lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her companion and guide. She and Flip soon find themselves on an incredible journey crossing dreams and escaping nightmares, where Nemo begins to hope that he will be reunited with her father once more.
Slumberland directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire & Mockingjay), written by David Guion and Michael Handelman (Night at the Museum. The secret of the grave) and produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready and Francis Lawrence. The film also stars Chris O’Dowd, India De Beaufort and Humberly Gonzalez.
