Troy Ave is back with his third project of the year, this time delivering new music alongside a new film of the same name.
New York: The Movie was released on all streaming platforms on Friday (November 25), less than two weeks after Troy Ave first announced the projectHis arrival on Instagram with the release of his single “Based On A True Story”.
In a next IG postTroy Ave explained that his goal for this project was to herald a return to the “New York City sound”.
“This is what it sounds like in New York!” she captioned it. “Atlanta got $hit Chicago, Cali, Detroit, etc. [heart emoji] but that East Coast independent king $hit, time to start looking and sounding like where we are again!
“Remember when I got in the game and put all the OGs on my wave out of love and to remind the world of that New York sound?! Well, I’ll restore the feeling [100 emoji] And all my out-of-towners who appreciate that classic feel I got the U! Just know you don’t go to the Chinese store when you want pizza!”

The musical project, which is called “A Soundtrack by Troy Ave”, is currently available on all streaming platforms. The real movie version of it New York: The Movie it was originally planned to only be available for rent or purchase through Amazon Prime Video.
However, hours after both were released, Troy Ave took to social media to inform fans that the film will also be accessible to watch for free via Worldstar.
In the days leading up to its release New York: U FilmTroy Ave also revealed that he will continue his White Christmas mixtape series, which will release its 10th edition on December 25th.
Troy Ave kicked off the year with his release The 2022 seasonan 11-track project that features some support from Soulja Boy, Pastor Rema, Zaimari, Pizzy and Trampoy Freddy. During an interview with Breakfast Club Following the release of this project, Troy Ave hinted that all of his subsequent albums would actually be soundtracks used to attract a captive audience for their films
“All these albums I’m making now, I’m making them as a soundtrack, so they come with a movie,” he explained. “That’s why they’re running short, that’s why 25, 30 minutes. And then it’s more flow wise to just go get a bag and put it on. So I wanted it to be a film with just me.”
His second project of the year, The Sunday Liturgyreleased in April.
