Bollywood superstar Salman Khan He has appeared in more than 120 films in his film career spanning three decades. However, it is fascinating to think back to the time when Salman got his first role in a film because a director was very disappointed and decided to cast the next person who came in.

In an interview with Rediff.com, Salman had talked about how he launched his first film Biwi Ho To Aisi. He said, “JK Bihari had approached many actors but they all refused. I remember he had his office in a garage. A few actors had met him but things could not be finalised. Out of frustration he said: ‘Ab koi bhi next idiot ayega, main usko sign kar dunga (I’ll sign the next idiot that walks in).'”

The actor revealed it then after doing Biwi Ho To Aisi, he felt it was his first and last movie. Salman said that he called Sooraj Barjatya and told him not to cast him in Maine Pyar Kiya because the latter’s father Tarachand Barjatya was spending a lot of money on it. Sooraj then watched Biwi Ho To Aisi at the screening and told Salman that the film was like a screen test and he was sure to cast him in Maine Pyar Kiya.

Salman Khanwho often refers to Sooraj Barjatya as his “best director”, had previously stated that if Maine Pyar Kiya had been his first film, it would have failed because no Rajshri (Barjatya’s production house) hero had ever become a star.

Salman said, “I was really lucky because Maine Pyar Kiya did really well. No Rajshri hero ever became a star except me. If Maine Pyar Kiya had been my first film, I might have failed.” The iconic Maine Pyar Kiya was released in 1989 and also starred Bhagyashree in the lead role.

The actor also revealed his family’s reaction to his first two films. He said, “I had taken them to watch the movie (Biwi Ho To Aisi) and halfway through, they were all asleep. Later, I took them to watch the first track of Maine Pyar Kiya and they were also sleeping in that movie.”

Salman Khan said his plan was to do films and earn Rs 10 lakh and return to writing and modelling. But he has since said it Aamir Khana Bandra boy had become a star, “he was big boj in his own chaati’. THE ACTOR he said, “I felt like if I didn’t do well, they would put me down. I was like Bandra main toh koi nahi puchega toh Bhayandar main jaake rehna padega (No one will ask for me in Bandra and I will have to live in Bayadhar)”
