Eisener had this to say about the project:Bringing alien horrors to life is a literal dream come true. Kids vs. Aliens it is inspired by my childhood nightmares and obsessions. I hope my parents will forgive me for using their house as our main location.

Eleven years have passed between the release of Hobo with a Shotgun and Kids vs. Aliens, because Eisener was busy with off-world projects. The short one he made V/H/S/2 it is quite similar to its set-up Kids vs. Aliens.
