Bollywood actor Sonu Sood appeared as a witness in a special court on Tuesday in a case involving the shooting of producer Karim Morani in the bungalow in 2014, and said he received a threatening call from gangster Ravi Pujari asking him not to participate in promotion of the film. ‘Happy New Year’.

According to police, the shootings were carried out by members of the Ravi Pujari gang.

The prosecution claimed that a conspiracy was hatched to target Mr Morani for the promotion of the Hindi film abroad. In addition to Mr Sood, the 2014 film also starred Bollywood actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in starring roles.

According to Special Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat, the actor fully supported the prosecution case and the recording of his evidence was completed on Tuesday before the court of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), which is hearing the case.

During his testimony, Mr. Sood told the court that in 2014, he received a threatening call from Pujari, asking him not to participate in the promotion of “Happy New Year”.

The 48-year-old actor said that he learned from media reports that a shot was fired at Mr. Morani’s house in Mumbai.

According to the prosecution, Pujari has been targeting the cast and crew of “Happy New Year” since Mr. Morani turned down his demands to give the gangster the rights to promote the film abroad.
