Julie Rappaport, who was the interim head of both studios, will continue to oversee Amazon Originals and MGM publishing in her new role as Head of Film Creative and Strategy.
The former president of production and development at Warner Bros. Courtenay Valenti has joined as head of cinema, streaming and theater at Amazon and MGM Studios. She was at Warner Bros. for 33 years and in her last role oversaw film for Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Feature Animation.
Valenti will begin her new role on March 1, nearly a year after Amazon acquired MGM.
She will report directly to head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Schalke, and will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive selection of scenes, prestige films and genres.

During her 33 years with Warner Bros., Valenti oversaw many hits, including the last four Harry Potter movies, The Great Gatsby, Fantastic Beasts, Crazy rich Asian guysmall, The Lego Movie, Lego Batman, You have an email messageand The intern. He also played a central role in the development and securing of the Oscar winner Happy feet and Mad Max: Fury Road as well as for this year’s Oscar award Elvis.
