Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, directed Anurag Kashyapwill make its world premiere in progress Marrakesh Film Festival. The 19th edition of the film festival started in Morocco on November 11 and will end on November 19.
Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat will be performed outdoors in Marrakech’s Jemaa El Fna square.
Anurag Kashyap said he is excited to make his directorial debut at the festival.
“The story of the film has been shaped over the years by my conversations with my daughter and GenZ, and realizing how our defining beliefs and habitus affect them. To realize that we are immigrants in the world today (and) that they are also locals. It feels like a new journey and I’m happy that it starts with this film,” the 50-year-old director said in a statement.
Anurag Kashyap also thanked music composer Amit Trivedi, lyricist Shellee, cinematographer Sylvester Fonseca, production designer Shazia and other members of his crew for their continuous support.
Backed by Zee Studios and Kashyap’s Good Bad Films, Almost Love with DJ Mohabbat will release in India in January 2023.

Ranjan Singh of Good Bad Films said they are confident that the love story backed by some excellent music by Trivedi, will “resonate with audiences across the globe”.
