Ayushmann Khurrana and Junglee Pictures, known for presenting the most unique content with subtle social messages like Badhaai Ho & Bareilly Ki Barfi, are back with another entertainer, Doctor G. Ayushmann Khurrana, the name has become a kind of alone. Known for his concept-driven films ranging from being a sperm donor in Vicky Donor to dealing with erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, his films, though daring in nature, have always been presented as a family entertainer. This time, his next sees him playing the role of a male Gynecologist in a medical campus comedy-drama and has received an A rating which is advisory for 18+ audiences, making it a first for Ayushmann.
Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Doctor G is a journey of an aspiring orthopedic surgeon who instead enters the gynecology department, being the only male in a female dominated department, that’s where his humorous struggle to fit in begins. Staying true to the ethos of the medical campus and A Journey to Become a Doctor as seen in the trailer, the film promises to present the events inspired by real life in a humorous manner.
Post-pandemic, audiences, especially young adults, have been exposed to authentic, unfiltered and bold OTT platforms with gentle content. In an age where this content is accessible, it’s only fair that audiences get the same experience on the big screen. Junglee Pictures and Ayushmann Khurrana made a conscious call not to change the film and get the ‘A’ certification to deliver a film that has humor and a narrative that is meant to be watched in its truest form.

We are delighted that no cuts were proposed and we are able to present the film as it is in theatres, and at under 2 hours, Doctor G will have a refreshing and exciting appeal.”

Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and written by Sumit Saxena, Saurabh Bharat, Vishal Wagh and Anubhuti Kashyap, Doctor G is set to hit the theaters on October 14. Junglee Pictures upcoming slate also includes ‘Woh Ladaki Hai Kahan?’, ‘Dosa King’. , ‘Ulajh’ and ‘Click Shankar’ to name a few.
