Barbie it’s not stopping its theatrical dominance and it was just announced that the film is headed to Imax theaters!
The movie, starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera and Simu Liuwill be taking over Imax screens for one week only, and details have just been released.

According VarietyWarner Bros. Pictures has set a one-week limited run of Barbie in Imax theaters, beginning September 22.
The film is also expected to feature a brand new post-credits scene, which was chosen by the director Greta Gerwig.
“We did Barbie for the big screen, so it’s exciting to be able to bring it to Imax, the biggest screen of all.” Greta communicated in a statement. “As a special thanks to Barbie fans, we’re excited to share a little more of the incredible work of our cast and crew by adding special new footage that we hope audiences will enjoy.”
The executives at Warner Bros Jeff Goldsteinpresident of domestic distribution, and Andrew Crippspresident of international distribution also spoke about the special release, saying “If anything was missing from this win Barbie strategy, was able to place Greta’s unique vision on premium Imax screens in the ultra-competitive summer runway.”
“That Barbie continues to attract packed audiences around the world and is entering its sixth weekend in release, speaks to the quality of the film and the enthusiasm audiences have for the story. We are very happy to give them the opportunity to see it Barbieeither for the first time or for the fifth time, in such an experiential format as Imax.”
