Fans Get Best Look At What Would Be Leslie Grace’s Final Costume Bat girl film, which was canceled by Warner Bros. (WB) in 2022.
Before the DC Universe (DCU) was set for a complete reboot from the ground up under the new co-CEOs of DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Saffron, Bat girl became the first domino to fall when it hit in August 2022. Initially it was meant to help explore the DC Multiverse for the first time with Grace’s Barbara Gordon competing alongside Michael Keatonof 1989 Batmanthe film would become one of WB’s biggest disappointments once news broke that it would not be released.
Since then, cast and crew members have been looking back at the work they completed on the unreleased outing, even until he releases some full scenes online so that fans could see what they wanted.
Star Leslie Grace continued that trend, offering another look at what could have been in the super-powered epic.
Batgirl Star shows off the final costume
To her Instagram account, Bat girl Star Leslie Grace has shared her best look yet in her latest costume from the canceled DCU film.
Grace posted a photo of herself taking a lunch break while dressed in her latest outfit from Bat girl, with the character’s classic purple and gold color scheme. Complete with a purple helmet and a golden bat symbol on her chest, the costume features a full cape and intricate body armor along with a pair of golden gloves reminiscent of DC’s original Caped Crusader, Batman.
For comparison, Grace also shared an image of an earlier version of her costume in January 2022, which used a purple leather jacket and a darker purple look on her cover. She also doesn’t have the gloves on her wrists in this costume:
Other images of Grace’s Barbara Gordon looking for the movie are her in a Gotham City Police Department uniform, with her badge prominently displayed on her left shoulder, along with a GCPD beanie for those cold Gotham nights:
Another had Grace wearing a full black bodysuit over a black Batgirl hood, possibly from one of her earlier costumes used in the film:
Fans got another decent look at this leather jacket, as Grace is seen relaxing and holding up a “peace” sign, looking a little more comfortable with the suit unbuttoned:
Finally, Grace is seen hugging Batgirl’s main villain, Firefly, played by Brendan Fraser. It’s unclear if this shot shows Fraser or his stunt double posing with Grace:

While Bat girl has mostly brought great sadness and disappointment due to its cancellation, Grace used these photos to help her look back on 2022 with happiness and gratitude. Wearing a series of exciting costumes, the young actress shows how much energy and effort she put into making her performance as Barbara Gordon the best it can be, with an epic new costume for the final moments of the film.
This would be the first time fans have ever seen this version of the Batgirl costume in live action, bringing the classic comic book color scheme to life next to Michael Keaton’s iconic black and white gray. While it’s unclear how long this new suit would be in the film, it was meant to be a look he would likely use for a future DCU that never materialized.
Now, fans are waiting for an update on if and when Batgirl will ever actually make her return to the big screen in live action in this new era of the DCU under James Gunn and Peter Safran. Hopefully, Leslie Grace will get a chance at redemption at a future date by showing Batgirl’s story that deserves to be told on the big and small screen.
