Akshay Kumar will once again be back as a Sikh character on the big screen with a film inspired by real life. He will play Jaswant Singh Gill in the film Gill capsule which highlights the heroic act of the mining engineer who ended up saving many lives during a disaster. A recent picture of the actor dressed as a Punjabi sardaar from the sets of director Tinu Suresh Desai has gone viral on social media.

The said picture is said to be clicked in Yorkshire field where the actor is posing in the field. The film’s team is currently shooting in the UK. In fact, the entire film is expected to be shot extensively in the UK and also stars Parineeti Chopra. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment, the film is based on the true story of the Raniganj Coalfields incident where 64 miners were trapped in the coal mines located in West Bengal. Jaswant Singh saved their lives by risking his life during the coal mine collapse in 1989. The film is a detailed adaptation of the incident.

As for Akshay Kumar, after his release Samrat Prithviraj last month, the actor is currently gearing up for its release Raksha Bandanwhich will be released along with the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chadha on August 11. Besides Gill capsulewe will also see him in the mythological fantasy drama Ram Sethu alongside Jacqueline Fernandez as well as Soorarai Pottru remake. It also has Cinderella mission, Noand Bade Miyan Chote Miyan remake with Tiger Shroff in the works.
