Yuri Sardarov will always be a favorite presence in the One Chicago universe. The actor stole almost every scene in which he appeared as Otis, until his death Chicago Fire season 8.

Fans’ favorite character may no longer exist, but Sardarov continued to shine in various works, the most notable of which is the upcoming film Daddy. The actor recently took to social media to tease his involvement in the film, which appears to be a black comedy.

Yuri Sardarov to reunite with Chicago Fire star Miranda Rae Mayo

Daddy Screenplay and direction are Neal Kelley and Jono Sherman. The film is currently in production, as evidenced by Shardarov’s photos on Instagram, where he has been seen wearing a suit designed by Josh Kercher.

Daddy takes place in a dystopian society where “the state has the power to determine who can and who can not have children”. According to Deadline, the film will follow four men who go to a shelter in the mountains of California and are left to their own devices to prove to themselves that they have everything they need to become a father.

The strange case and the promise to see Sardarov in a role that highlights his comedic talent would be enough to attract most One Chicago fans, but there is even more motivation. Apart from Sardarov, the father will star Chicago Fire the protagonist Miranda Rae Mayo.

Shardarov does not have an extensive film career, but his selectivity has resulted in an extremely impressive biography. Some of his notable works on display include The double, The Ideas of March (and in 2011) and Argo, which won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2013.

The actor has been relatively quiet since he was killed Chicago Fire in 2018. Played a small role in the 2020 drama Adam, that makes Daddy his first major role in quite some time. We are excited to see how he manages the tonally difficult balance the film seeks, and we will keep our fingers crossed in the hope that he will be able to play a scene with his former Mayo co-star.
