Ek Rishtaa: The Bond Of Love it was an emotional story about a family that became a box office hit. It had an ensemble of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Mohnish Behl.

Although Ek Ristaa ended on a happy note, the film’s director Suneel Darshan suffered a setback before the film even went on floors and was forced to change the shooting dates completely.

Sharing what exactly happened, the filmmaker said Bollywood Hungama in an interview, “We’re supposed to make this film over the course of a year. But in the very first program we got to know that Juhi Chawla was pregnant. He cast the film and we worked together again.”

Suneel Darshan was adamant about not letting Juhi walk away from the project. “I said I’m not changing Juhi for anything in the world in this film,” he added. “I called Akshay and said he should prioritize his dates for this project. I explained the problem to Mr Bachchan. He said, “Sunil, I am there. Start working on how it can happen.”

The director came up with an unusual solution to deal with the situation. “I said, before Juhi’s pregnancy starts showing, which is just three months, I have to finish this film or at least finish her work. And we started shooting for the movie sometime in October. By December, we had finished her work, except for two scenes,” he said.

Juhi gave birth to a baby girl in February 2021 and named her Jhanvi.
