He began his career as a director and directed the epic comedy-drama Dil Chahta Hai (2001) for which he received numerous awards, including the 2001 National Hindi Film Award for Best Picture.
Farhan Akhtar was born on January 9, 1974 to the great lyricist Javed Akhtar and the screenwriter and actor Honey Irani later divorced in 1978. In 1999, he founded his production company, Excel Entertainment with Ritesh Sidhwani.
Farhan Akhtar initially directed 3 Bollywood star films and one short film until 2007, then made his official debut as an actor in the music film Rock On !! (2008), proved to be both an actor and a singer and the film received a lot of love and positive responses. Rock it !! marked the second National Award for Farhan as a producer, in the category of Best Feature Film.

1- Fire
Farhan will co-star with Saif Ali Khan in the movie Fire, which Farhan himself co-stars with Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of their Excel Entertainment home. It will be Saif’s second venture with Excel, having previously worked with the production company on the 2001 romantic film Dil Chahta Hai, which won the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film. Now, we have to wait and see what this reunion will do this time. Fire will hit screens in July 2022.
2- Mrs. Marvel
Although Farhan himself has not yet confirmed, according to several media reports, the actor is ready to appear in the upcoming Web Series superheroes, Ms. Marvel, franchise of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recently, after much speculation, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan also confirmed that he is a member of the upcoming MCU Web-Series.
However, Ms. Marvel is part of MCU Phase 4 and will be broadcast on the giant Disney + Hotstar streaming platform by mid-2022. She will revolve around a teenage Pakistani-American who is a fan of Marvel superheroes.
3- Bhoot Phone
Farhan also co-produced the first collaboration between Ishan Khatter, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Katrina Kaif with the horror comedy Phone-Bhoot.
Farhan will co-sponsor the film with Ritesh Sidhwani under their Excel Entertainment banner. It will be directed by the famous Mirzapur Gurmeet Singh. It is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 15, 2022.

4- Yuthra
Farhan under his production, Excel Entertainment, will also be producing the romantic thriller Yudhra. Directed by Ravi Udyawar starring Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role and the emerging southern actress Malavika Mohanan in the respective protagonist of Siddhant.
Malavika will mark its second Hindi film with this venture. Choreographer-comedian Raghav Juyal will also star in the film. It is scheduled to be released on screens in mid-2022.

5- Jee Le Zaraa
We will see Farhan Akhtar again in the directing position with the female film Jee Le Zaraa. Starring famous Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra Jonas aka PeeCee. Farhan also co-produced the film with Rithesh under Excel Entertainment.
Jee Le Zaraa will be on the floor soon. The film is expected to be released by the end of 2023. Farhan co-wrote the screenplay with his sister Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.

6- Sharmaji Namkeen
Sharmaji Namkeen is an adult film about a 60-year-old light-hearted, lovable man. Starring the late actor Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles. It will be the latest film by veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. After the death of Late Rishi Kapoor, the creators asked Paresh Rawal to complete the role of Rishi’s character.
Sharmaji Namkeen is directed by Hitesh Bhatia, and co-wrote the screenplay with Supartik Farhan Sen. Production of the film under Excel Entertainment in collaboration with MacGuffin Pictures and Sony Pictures Intl. Productions. It will be released on December 16, 2022.
7- Don 3
Farhan will also direct Don 3, the third installment in the Don series, starring Shah Rukh Khan as Don. Although Farhan has not made any announcement yet, according to reports he will start shooting soon.
Recently on a talk show, Pinch Season 2 hosted by Arbaaz Khan, Farhan talked about the film and the fans that there is a love-hate relationship between Don fans and those who know that if Don 3 happens, I will have to they make it but they are so sad that it has not been made for so long. However, Farhan was reluctant to say about the film whether he would direct it or not.
