A big event before its release Godfather was held in Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh earlier today. Along with seeing their favorite star, fans were also eagerly waiting to see the theatrical trailer of the film. Their wait came to an end as the makers unveiled the Telugu trailer during the event. Godfather has been in news for many reasons and one of them is that it brings together Chiranjeevi with Salman Khan for the first time. For the uninitiated, the film is a remake of the Mollywood blockbuster Lucifer starring Mohanlal.

In the trailer, fans who have watched the Mohanlal starrer Lucifer, will understand the characters depicted in the Tollywood version. The film revolves around a similar plot to its Malayalam version, where the death of the state’s beloved PKR chief minister leads to a power struggle between legitimate heirs, selfish businessmen and rogue politicians. The trailer shows how PKR’s death leads to questions about succession. While his daughter (Nayanthara) is not interested, his son-in-law (Satya Dev) and a few others in the party are at the center of a power grab. Brahma (Chiranjeevi), the trusted man of the fallen soldier, gets drawn into the dark affairs and wants to keep the greedy sharks at bay.
The trailer also shows the amazing camaraderie with Salman Khan, who plays the role of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also directed the original film. The film will feature Salman Khan as Brahma’s favorite henchman or rather right hand man.
The Telugu version is directed by Mohan Raja and cinematography is by Nirav Shah. S Thaman has composed the music and background score. With production planning by Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films, Godfather will be released on October 5 on the occasion of Dussehra.
