Directed by Kabir Khan 83 is just one week away from its worldwide release in cinemas. Starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, the film had its world premiere on December 15 at the Jeddah Red Sea Film Festival, which was decorated by Kabir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Mohinder Amarnath, Kapil Dev and his wife of Romi Dev. Now, the creators are making a special premiere in Mumbai on December 22, 2021, which will be attended by the film team and the 1983 Indian cricket team, whose story is told in the film.
The movie 83 which was supposed to be released last May had a long wait. The film received applause at its world premiere and the anticipation around the film in India is high. The movie trailer was also played at the iconic Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The moment was attended by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan and Ranveer Singh.
Based on the true story of India’s iconic 1983 World Cup victory over the West Indies, the film sees Ranver Singh taking the place of former Indian Cricket Team leader Kapil Dev. Also starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi. Deepika Padukone will appear in a cameo avatar playing Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife.

The film is produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Sheetal Vinod Talwar, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd. 83 directed by Kabir Khan. Reliance Entertainment and PVR Pictures will be released this Christmas on December 24, 2021 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Canada and Malayalam.
