Rumors of clueless sequels explained
A poster for a 1995 sequel Ignorant is circulating online with fans expecting the new film to be released in June 2024.
The viral poster features Kiernan Shipka, who is known for Angry men and in July 2024 Twisterswith a pink candy car on a Beverly Hills street.

The poster promising a June 2024 release for the sequel also had the following synopsis:

The Facebook page that created and shared the poster is satirical and has created various fake movie posters in the past.
Will Clueless ever get a sequel?
While there are no real plans for a Ignorant sequel in 2024, doesn't mean there haven't been spin-offs or even recent attempts to revisit the hit teen film.
A year later Ignorant'' theatrical release, a three-season sitcom of the same name premiered on ABC but without Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd.
Then fast forward to October 2019, when there were actually plans for a rebooted TV series based on the 1995 film.
According to a report from Deadlinethe hour-long show would have been set in 2020 with an elevator pitch described as “Bad Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video.”
The series would focus on Cher's best friend Dionne, originally played by Stacey Dash, who played Cher's top role in the social hierarchy amid her best friend's mysterious disappearance.
However, in May 2021, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Peacock has opted to pass on the Dionne-centric reboot with plans for a different direction.
However, this is not the last that fans have heard or seen Ignorant.
In 2023, Alicia Silverstone finally reprized her role as Cher in a Rakuten Super Bowl commercial which shows the star revisiting certain locations and moments from the original film.
Silverstone later commented on whether she would return for a literal sequel in the future Varietynoting how people were asking about a second film “since the movie was made” and appreciating how the public “I still love this movie:”
“I think people are talking about one [sequel] all the time at all times since the movie was made. Has it been 30 years yet? This is always a fun discussion. It's so great to see how people still love this movie. Its very nice.”
The original 1995 Ignorant now streaming on Paramount+ and available to rent and buy through most online platforms.
